Cover: Harvest of Tifway bermudagrass [Cynodon dactylon (L.) Pers.] sod grown with composted dairy manure. Manure P is removed and exported with the sod layer for transplanting on urban landscapes. The research revealed that the percentage of applied manure P lost in surface runoff from the transplanted sod was one third of losses from composted dairy manure topdressed on sprigged bermudagrass. See Vietor et al., "Runoff Losses of Phosphorus and Nitrogen Imported in Sod or Composted Manure for Turf Establishment, p. 358-366. Photo by D.M. Vietor.
