Data combine the 14CO2 trap data shown in Fig. 2 plus the 14C estimated to be incorporated into the plant tissues from fixation of evolved 14CO2. This estimated 14CO2 fixation by photosynthesis was obtained by subtracting 14C levels detected in plant tissues in a continuous-flow environment from 14C levels detected in discontinuous air flow microcosms. Data are the mean of three independent experiments ± SD.
