Fig. 1. Reversible sorption isotherms (T = 22°C) for juglone on unsterile and ⁶⁰Co ${gamma}$ irradiated Ryker A and B horizon soils after a 24-h equilibration in 0.0025 M CaCl₂. Reversibly sorbed juglone (C_s,ext) was determined by direct extraction with 1:1 (v/v) ACN/MeOH. No juglone was detected in aqueous and solvent extracts of the unsterile A horizon soil. K_d (L kg^–1) is the linear sorption coefficient and R² is the regression correlation coefficient.
