Starting Point 1 is an estimate of the volume of growing stock in a forest, which excludes unmerchantable trees and portions of merchantable trees left in the forest at time of harvest. Starting Point 2 is an estimate of the roundwood available for processing at mills, including logs, bolts, and other round timber. Starting Point 3 is a compilation of the primary wood products manufactured from harvested wood, such as lumber, plywood, or paper.
